New Life To Furniture

Tried & Trusted is the trading name of John Rooney, a Glasgow based furniture restorer, upholsterer and designer. He first became interested in working in the furniture industry over 10 years ago when attending a wood working evening class. This interest has become a passion and he achieved a distinction in his HND in furniture restoration and design from Glasgow City College in 2013. John's skill and dedication was evident to his tutors and he was invited to attend an intensive course in wood sustainability and design in Slovenia for which he won a group prize for the design and construction of a wine table.

Since the completion of his course John has continued to design and build unique pieces while developing his skills in modern and traditional upholstery. John spent 3 years employed in the service repair industry where he conducted in house furniture repairs and upholstery in both domestic and commercial premises. This allowed John to hone his skills in modern upholstery and conducting in house repairs.

John's skills in woodworking, upholstery, restoration and design led John to create Tried & Trusted where he loves the opportunity to work on large and small projects.

In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons as well as tinkering in the workshop!
